We have been lucky enough to get a spot in Curumbene Creek for Jack and Jess's Status 580 named "Quo". Kev, Jack and I have cleaned her up and made her ready for the mooring with a new set of covers, an auto bilge pump, solar power, anchor/steaming light and some antifoul. It's so nice to work on a boat that doesn't need to be hauled out onto a slipway.
Unfortunately the current mooring blocks were totally decayed so it was a good excuse to make some new ones so that we know "Quo" will be secure.
Then it was just a matter of getting them into position. Not the easiest of jobs as they weigh about 130kgs each and have one metre of 25mm gal chain hanging out of the middle. So with a bit of creative gantry construction off the back of the ute we were able to get them into the water and then just floated them into position as shown in the video below.
Next week we will put Quo on her new home so that we can all have fun over summer with a new addition to the fleet.
